It’s been two and a half years since I found Investing for Beginners and this blog, and I’m still learning. I wasn’t quite in your position (no kids), but I was certainly broke, disenchanted, and miserable. I read Josh’s materials not just because he provides the information (any textbook can do that), but because his confidence is contagious.

Stick around, and “my life sucks” quickly becomes “yes I can”

Thanks, I actually did that late last night after I posted that comment. I also took the first test on the train to work. I working myself through the site. I still need to grasp this investing thing, I guess the more I read the better. I’m also interested in Joshua’s background. He speaks nothing of where he went to school, upbringing, basically his biography..I love biographies but I stick to reading his posts for now since that’s the “secret”.

Joshua has a lot of articles on that exact topic over at his Investing for Beginners site. Google it, and it’ll be the first result. If you browse the “how to get rich” section at the top left, you’ll find lots of useful advice there.

Sooooo what in the world does someone who is starting out at 30 begin steps in financial freedom. I’m a single mother living pay check to pay check…any advice.

I don’t understand #27. Do you have a few moments to explain it?

#28 is like asking whether or not you should be proud of creating a wonderful computer program even though you didn’t construct the computer or develop the programming language.

I just like to express my deepest gratitude to you. You are truly a gifted MAN and I wanna stress the word because most people don’t even realize that to become a True MAN or WOMAN requires much or if not all of your senses. There’s a big difference between a Human Being and Man or Woman. Even in the real world of legal systems the two have very different connotations.
I just finished reading a little book called “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George Samuel Clason and I was so amazed by it, that it changed my perception about life and what is the truly clearest path to financial wisdom.
It is written there in their tablets that a Man becomes a Man only after building their own temple both above and below. or in modern terms as both SPIRITUALLY and PHYSICALLY.
One of the greatest teachings for mankind indeed.
