I wasn't quite in your position (no kids), but I was certainly broke, disenchanted, and miserable. I read Josh's materials not just because he provides the information (any textbook can do that), but because his confidence is contagious. Stick around, and "my life sucks" quickly becomes "yes I can" :-) It’s been two and a half years since I found Investing for Beginners and this blog, and I’m still learning.
