I've been too busy to post my reaction and thoughts on the Perry v. Schwarzenegger ruling from the district court that struck down Proposition 8 as unconstitutional and made gay marriage legal. Back in college, when I was the student body treasurer and chairman of the finance board, a Christian group known as Campus Crusade for Christ threatened to sue the university because they wanted to be officially recognized. My mom wasn't allowed to go see Elton John as a kid. She came from a very fundamentalist household and seeing a "homosexual" wasn't something God's people did, or so they were told. So, she would wait up at night and watch him on television instead of going to bed.
