As if on cue, several moments after I pressed the "publish" button on my wrap-up of the Values Voter Summit 2010, the main news page on Yahoo carried this special gem of an article: Montana GOP policy: Make homosexuality illegal At a time when gays have been gaining victories across the country, the Republican Party in Montana still wants to make homosexuality illegal. The party adopted an official platform in June that keeps a long-held position in support of making homosexual acts … [Read more...]
Is the Phrase “Unelected Activist Judge” an Insult or a Compliment?

I've been too busy to post my reaction and thoughts on the Perry v. Schwarzenegger ruling from the district court that struck down Proposition 8 as unconstitutional and made gay marriage legal. I'll try to get to that in the next few days but the businesses must come first. (You know my rule: Unless I've read something completely, I try not to discuss it or give an opinion. My Reflections on Christian Legal Society Chapter of University of California Hastings College of Law v. Martinez Supreme Court Ruling

Back in college, when I was the student body treasurer and chairman of the finance board, a Christian group known as Campus Crusade for Christ threatened to sue the university because they wanted to be officially recognized. So, she would wait up at night and watch him on television instead of going to bed. Once she was old enough, she had all of his albums and when he walks out on stage (she's seem him twice - once in 2005 and then again last night), she is able to get some serious volume to her screams of joy. To this day, she … [Read more...]
How to Make Money in Fable 2 – Or, How I Made My Fable 2 Character a Millionaire in a Few Days Without Cheating

It's remarkable that the same concepts that allowed me to be effectively retired by my mid-twenties allows me to frequently become rich in video games. That's the nature of compounding. It is a law, exactly like gravity. This weekend, Ashly and Ian drove in from Columbus to visit - they are thinking about relocating to this area next March so that she can work with us on the businesses and he can work as a nuclear engineer at a nearby facility. Right now, she's a risk mitigation analyst … [Read more...]
