Oreo Pudding Layer Dessert White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate in Martini Glass

Last night, we were in a hurry; were sponsoring a movie night and didn’t have much time to get dinner and dessert together.  There would be no perfectly molded honey lemon bee hive cakes or unique custom icing crafted.  Instead there would be delicious nachos and some sort of after dinner sweet.  Whatever we did needed to be fast, easy, and taste great.  Then, it occurred to us: The answer was in the 1950’s; the great grandmother territory of Aqua net hairspray, fourth of July picnics, fireworks, and backyard family reunions for dozens, or even, hundreds of people.  Score one for the Eisenhower Era.

[mainbodyad]The end result was a mixed layered pudding dessert alternating between a base layer of white chocolate pudding, then adding a layer of whipped cream, then a layer of crushed oreo cookies, then another layer of whipped cream, then a layer of milk chocolate pudding.  It took less than five minutes to setup, and less than twenty minutes to cool in the refrigerator.  Once cool, it was transferred into serving dishes in spoonfuls, to mix the ingredients together nicely while still keeping areas of flavor.  For added convenience, it works great when served in a martini glass.

Depending on the size of the dessert serving glass, the calories were between 300 and 500 for each person; this could easily be reduced if you used skim milk instead of whole milk.

Layered Pudding Oreo Dessert Instructions

You need to gather your ingredients: Four cups of whole milk, whipped cream (a carton of Cool Whip will work), and a package of original, classic Oreo cookies.

Ingredients for Pudding Layer Dessert with Oreos ... I realized when taking this photograph that all of the product save the milk came from Kraft Foods. It is basically a Kraft Foods commercial.

First, take a package of Jello White Chocolate Pudding and dump it into a mixing bowl.  Add two cups of cold, whole milk and whisk for two minutes.  Let stand for five minutes to quick set.

Second, repeat the process with the Jello Chocolate Pudding exactly as you just did.  After whisking two minutes, this bowl will also take five minutes to quick set.

Third, take a square, glass baking pan – 9″x13″ should be fine but any reasonable size works – and scoop the white chocolate pudding into the bottom layer.

Next, dollop layers of whipped cream over the first white chocolate pudding layer.

After that, take crushed oreo cookies and sprinkle them until you have made your next layer.

Now, dollop another layer of whipped cream on top of the Oreo cookie layer.

Finally, finish off by spooning the chocolate pudding layer onto the top of the dessert, covering everything.  Cover in plastic or aluminum foil and let cool in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
