We headed to Carmine’s Italian restaurant in New York City’s theater district after seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway. Both Aaron and I have eaten there a few times but my mom wanted to try it after several of her friends back in Kansas City recommended it.
The menu for Carmine's in New York City's theater district ... everything is family style so you order a dish for the table and then serve from it onto individual plates.
Aaron has been crazy about the chicken in lemon, butter, and white wine sauce since he first tried it six or ten years ago. Normally, we just leave the entire plate alone and let him eat it. He's polite, but the look in his eye says, "Really? You're going to take that piece of chicken. Put it down. It's mine." He's so giving in every other area of life that we let him have the dish without any questions.
My mom was crazy about the Manicotti because of the marinara sauce.
There was a sausage, broccoli, and penne type dish; we opted for the default olive-oil sauce instead of a red sauce. It was good.
We ordered dessert to go, grabbed a cab back to the hotel, and now I’m settling in for the night …
I'm settling into bed, going to do some reading, and work for a few more hours. There is a lot to get done on this trip and I'm not showing you the business side.
