After having lunch at The Brown Derby restaurant earlier today, the rainstorm finally broke and we were able to run around the park (albeit in ponchos). We saw the rest of the Hollywood Studios, rode the Hollywood movie water boat ride, and hung out for a bit longer. Later, the rainstorm passed and we headed over to The Grand Floridian deluxe hotel and resort. We had dinner reservations here tonight (even with miles and miles … and miles and even more miles of walking I wasn’t sure how I was going to eat given how full I had been earlier in the day but we still had a bit of time before our seating time). We checked out the hotel, looked through the bath shop, walked around the grounds, and passed time.
We disembarked from the Disney motor coach at The Grand Floridian resort, walking up the colonnade to the front entrance.
The Grand Floridian resort paid a lot of attention to detail, down to the white Rolls-Royce near the entrance.
Still making our way into The Grand Floridian Walt Disney World resort ...
The lobby of The Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World was beautiful! Definitely one of my favorite resorts ...
We made our way up to the second floor and over to a bath products store to look around before our dinner reservations.
Aaron checking out the make-your-own-bath-salt setup at the store in The Grand Floridian ...
The bath salt arrangement was well done ... the colors were eye catching. I've been paying attention to retail display techniques the past few months because it interests me for some reason ... the psychology of presenting a product so that the same bottle can sell for $10 one place and $50 another.
The green bath salts from Basin ...
You can test the Basin bath products in-store. There was even a sales associate there to help you, answer questions, or help you find the perfect product.
A picture of the Basin store layout .... they were using a bright white LED system within the interior of the shelves to create a clean look and make the colors of the products appear more vibrant. It was a very well designed store.
The bath bombs ... I'm not kidding when I say that I thought about buying a few. We had walked so many miles at this point, I could hardly move and wanted nothing more than to soak in a tub.
Another shot of the grounds of The Grand Floridian ...
We walked by the swimming pool on the way to the restaurant ... the rain had stopped a few hours earlier.
I will say, I loved how The Grand Floridian looked. It made me want to put on an argyll shirt, argyll socks, wrap a white sweater around my shoulders, and sit at at one of the desk with a two-foot-high stack of annual reports. Ashly told me I would love it and she was right.
