We had hoped to have time to swing by Washington, D.C. on our upcoming business trip to New York but it looks like that won’t happen because we need to spend more time in New York and New Jersey. My mom wanted to try this place called Georgetown Cupcake in Washington and now that we won’t be able to see the bakery itself, she decided to place an order for a dozen cupcakes and have them flown in overnight so we could all try them. After everything, it only cost about $60.
Apparently, when the package was dropped off, the delivery guy looked at her like she was crazy and said, “You paid to have cupcakes flown in overnight? From Washington, D.C.?” My mom’s response was something along the lines of, “You better believe it!” as she fled from the room to go rip open the package. Shortly thereafter, we get a call telling us that we need to get to her office so we can sample them. Aaron and I were nearby so we swung over and this is what happened …
The box that arrived overnight at the office from Georgetown Cupcakes in Washington, D.C.
When we opened the box, there was another box marked "Georgetown Cupcake" that was protecting the individual cupcakes.
The box of cupcakes was opened and an assortment of a dozen different types of cupcakes was met with "Oohs" and "Aahs" as everyone gathered around to see. The cupcakes included lemon, lemon raspberry, cream cheese, strawberry, peanut butter chocolate, double chocolate, banana chocolate, key lime, and more.
The key lime cupcake is on the left and the lemon raspberry cupcake is on the right.
The peanut butter and chocolate cupcake was pretty good ... we started cutting the cupcakes and handing out samples of each to everyone.

It was a great way to start the day!
