After the Top of the Rock tour, I ran down to Bergdorf Goodman and bought four Charvet ties. I’m crazy about them. They are beautiful.
One of these days, I can’t wait to make my way to Paris and order bespoke Charvet shirts, which are considered to be the best in the world along with those made by Turnbull & Asser. Charvet has been worn by everyone from Coco Chanel, Oscar Wilde, Debussy, Monet, Fred Astaire, Proust, President John F. Kennedy, President Ronald Reagan, Bing Crosby, and Noel Coward to Frank Lloyd Wright and the Kings and Queens of Europe. They are, simply put, excellent. The moment you hold one of their products, you will be amazed at how superior the materials are. For me, it is all about the weight of the silk in the Charvet ties … it is so substantial that the Windsor and half Windsor knots hold much better throughout the day.
I got back to the hotel and opened the Charvet Ties ...
The ties were beautifully wrapped ...

The back of the green and silver Charvet tie ... the picture really doesn't do it justice because it is about how light hits and reacts with the thread ...

I'm particularly fond of the plum Charvet tie.

I stepped out of the side door of Bergdorf Goodman and was immediately near the Plaza Hotel so I headed up half a block and turned left on 5th Avenue ...
The buildings at night were beautiful. I loved looking at them lit up as we walked back toward the hotel.
We made it back to the hotel, bags in hand, ready to turn in for the night.
