From September 2nd through September 9th, I will be attending my family and friends’ annual Walt Disney World vacation in Orlando, Florida. This time around, our group included eleven people and we all stayed at the Animal Kingdom Deluxe Resort and Villa. Personally, I prefer The Grand Floridian of all the on-site properties because of the transportation access and it fits my personality better, but my youngest sister really likes wildlife preservation and wanted to be close to the savannas. Even though last time, I swore I’d only book at the resorts on the monorail in the future, I am making an exception for the love of family.
The funniest thing? The kids have been put on leashes. It cracks me up every time I look over at the youngest one.
[mainbodyad]I’m not going to post the entire trip since I’ve covered them in the past, just a few highlights for those of you who go to the resort and want to see some of the cooler things we uncovered or were pointed to thanks to recommendations from others. As such, I won’t be updating the blog much this week, but the posts will be put on a schedule and start rolling out once I am back in Kansas City.
This trip is going to be a lot of fun. We are scheduled for all the restaurants we wanted to get into including some favorites from last year such as Jiko, Citricos, California Grill, as well as a few new ones, such as Flying Fish Cafe and Les Chefs de France. I’ll ride a few rides, but for me, it is a chance to get away, think, spend time with people I love, and eat some excellent food.
I will be around, maybe even post some business content because seeing the intersection of people and the different business strategies at a crossroads like this where so many different backgrounds interact always makes me think. One of my first stops is always the gift shop, for a notebook to use as a scratchpad during my travels.
