My Day In Pictures – October 26th, 2010
I’m posting earlier than normal today because I have a lot of work to finish. If I take any more pictures, I’ll update this post. Otherwise …
Another addition to the Scrooge McDuck collection arrived today. This one has a switch that causes the gold flakes to swim around the inside of the water globe as the richest duck in the world takes a bath in his money.
I read the Imperial Tobacco annual report. The British tobacco giant has a great record. Over the past ten years, Imperial Tobacco has turned a £100 investment into £547 with dividends reinvested. The FTSE All-Share Index turned £100 into £287 in that same time period, giving the company double the rate of return compared to the broad stock market in Great Britain. From the report, I learned there are 6,000,000,000,000 cigarettes sold each year – that is 6 trillion – of which 1/3 are in China.
Another batch of books arrived from Amazon.com.
I’ve been busy so I have only read 339 pages into Barbarians at the Gate in the past two days. There are 160 pages left and I would like to finish them tonight or tomorrow, schedule permitting.
Kansas City is a long way from Chicago but we got a small part of the Wind-pocalypse as the media described it. The wind was insane today. It woke me up several times last night.
Another shot of the wind storm and sky. The sound of the trees reached a fury at times.
